Christopher Isherwood

Christopher Isherwood (1904–1986) was a British-American novelist whose Berlin stories inspired the musical Cabaret. A pioneering voice in queer literature, his later California novels explored gay identity, aging, and grief with extraordinary candor. He is widely regarded as one of the most important LGBTQ+ writers of the twentieth century.
