James Baldwin

James Baldwin (1924–1987) was an American novelist, essayist, and activist whose searing explorations of race, sexuality, and identity made him one of the twentieth century's essential voices. Works like Go Tell It on the Mountain and The Fire Next Time cemented his place in the literary canon.
