Patricia Highsmith

Patricia Highsmith (1921–1995) was an American novelist and short story writer best known for her psychological crime fiction, including The Talented Mr. Ripley. Born in Texas and spending much of her adult life in Europe, she wrote with a chilling, precise understanding of guilt and desire. The Price of Salt, published under the pen name Claire Morgan, was her most personal work.
