Paul Kalanithi

Paul Kalanithi was a neurosurgeon and writer who trained at Stanford and completed his residency there. Diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer at 36, he wrote When Breath Becomes Air in the final years of his life. He died in March 2015, before the book's publication.
