Umberto Eco

Umberto Eco was an Italian novelist, philosopher, and semiotician, and one of the most important European intellectuals of the twentieth century. He was a professor at the University of Bologna and the author of numerous works of fiction and non-fiction. The Name of the Rose, his first novel, was published in 1980 and became a global bestseller.
