Viet Thanh Nguyen is a Vietnamese-American author and professor at the University of Southern California whose debut novel The Sympathizer won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction. Born in Vietnam and raised in the United States, his work examines the Vietnam War and its aftermath from perspectives typically excluded from American narratives. He is also the author of the essay collection Nothing Ever Dies.
